As our Silver Mountain Nursery has grown, we have focused on providing our end customer with the highest quality Christmas tree possible. At the same time, we must maximize our own efficiency in growing, planting, and nurturing our young trees.
To do this, we have developed several specialized machines that allow us to do our work more effectively, efficiently, and economically, and we now offer these machines for sale to assist other nurseries and growers.
The Vacumn Precision Seeder assures that the seeds are planting in the precise row widths and depth we require. The seeder computer automatically sets width rows to the nurseryman's specifications, and can be adjusted on the move from the computer keypad. This allows you to run density trials and change seedling density on the move without stopping to change chains or sprockets. See Vacuum Precision Seeder for more details.
Our Reciprocating Undercutter Wrencher is a precision machine capable of reaching under the moist soil and making a clean cut of the vertical roots without dragging or sweeping the roots. This allows you to encourage a tight, dense, shocky root for healthier seedlings. The process also loosens the soil compaction. See Reciprocating Undercutter Wrencher for more details.
The Lateral Root Pruner cleanly cuts the lateral roots, using offset, 20-inch diameter pruning blades—the offset balances the upward turn of one set of blades with the downward turn of the other, thereby preventing the soil from uprooting the seedlings. Together, these two machines result in a nice, dense root base and a healthy seedling for growers. See Lateral Root Pruner for more details.
