Christmas Tree Varieties
At Silver Mountain Christmas Trees, we specialize in Noble fir, Grand fir, Fraser fir, Canaan fir and Douglas fir for our wholesale business, with approximately 3,500 acres planted in trees. Our trees are grown from carefully selected seeds from our own seed orchards, which are hand pollenated and harvested. These seeds are planted using our own vacuum precision seeder, and carefully nurtured in the Silver Mountain Nursery to assure that every tree is fresh and beautiful.
Noble Fir
Noble Fir
The Noble Fir is simply the most elegant tree that we can produce! This lovely tree has many subtle colors, from a deep green, through shades of blue-green and touched off with a rich dash of silver that gives the mountains around Silver Mountain Christmas Trees their name.
The Noble features a lush growth, yet it offers more open areas, making it easier to hang ornaments on the large branches. The Noble's exceptional needle-holding qualities make it very adaptable for most areas of the continental U.S.
Douglas Fir
Douglas Fir
The Douglas fir is a very fine textured tree, with many small branchlets growing from each branch giving it a very full appearance. Dark green and blue green needles are soft to the touch and radiate from the branches.
This tree has a wonderful fragrance. The Douglas firs are sheared as they grow to exhibit the perfect tree shape. The Douglas holds up well in most climates.
Grand Fir
Grand Fir
The Grand fir is a little more open with its limb arrangements than the Douglas. The Grand displays a rich green needle on one side complimented by a silver green underside which lends a beautiful contrast when properly decorated.
The Grand fir takes to flock nicely due to its flat needle arrangement and the Grand is by far the most aromatic Christmas tree.
